Giving Kudos to Brilliant Content

The Weekly Round Up – 11 Jan

Happy Friday one and all!

We just wanted to keep you all in the loop and let you know what’s been happening in the world of the academy this week!

Since Monday the 7th of January, we have welcomed six new writers on to the team! I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Jenny Duck, Sarah O’Rourke, Fran De Garis, Freddie Goldsmith, Suzan Huijgen and Jennifer Horsfall!

Our new writers are joining us from backgrounds ranging from short story writing, newspaper journalism, scriptwriting and commercial blogging. We’re happy to welcome all of this talent, experience and passion for creative writing!

I’d also like to welcome the members who joined us either just before or just after Christmas as they are still settling in. Welcome Gareth Jones, Adam Gedge, Matt Reilly, Shazmeen Hansrod, Dominic Archer and Adam Tyler!

This talented bunch comes from backgrounds in copywriting, marketing, public relations, magazine writing, pharmaceutical chemistry and gaming. We love having so much variety in talent and experience as it enriches the academy immeasurably. Long live creative diversity!

In other news, having had a look through previously published posts, I’d like to congratulate a few of our members for high numbers of shares! Elena Manighetti’s post 8 Reasons Why You Should Give Scuba Diving a Try has had 247 shares via Facebook, Twitter, Google + and LinkedIn! What great exposure! Clearly Elena wrote a post that really appealed to her audience which is a fabulous achievement for any blogger.

Another special mention for Jessica Beale who’s lovely November post In a World Full of Images, What is Interesting to Photograph? was shared 190 times and Alex Brakspear’s post 5 Science Fiction Gadgets We’re Still Waiting For was shared 132 times!

Great achievements, guys! It shows that you’re really engaging with your audience and creating content that the world finds interesting, useful and shareable. Cracking stuff.

What’s everyone up to at the weekend? Has anyone seen any treacherous weather warnings where they are?

I thank you for reading and I hope you all have a fun and productive weekend.

Lots of love
